The 2023 Grandparent Portrait Show Gallery
These portraits, in various media, of grandparents or beloved elders, were created by art students from local junior and senior public high schools during this year of online instruction. From 297 pieces of artwork submitted, the jurors selected 157 pieces for inclusion in the exhibition.
The exhibition will be on display at the Faulkner Gallery at the Santa Barbara Public Library at 40 E. Anapamu Street, from April 5th – April 27th.
Awards of Merit for eighteen outstanding entries were announced at the Family Reception on Friday, April 7. These awards are designated through a selection process that includes SAF Committee members—many are retired art teachers—and a professional juror. The juror for the 2023 Grandparent Portrait show is Nicole Strasburg, who selected thirteen award-winning portraits and four honorable mentions. You can see the award winning artwork here.
