The 2014 Photography Show Gallery

This online art show represents a variety of photographs and digital artwork created in high school art classrooms in Santa Barbara, Carpinteria and Goleta. The submitted artwork was evaluated and sponsored by an art teacher at each school. Each art teacher was permitted to sponsor a limited number of artworks. All of the artwork submitted is shown in the gallery below. There may be several views of each entry. The show was juried by Angela Allen. Blue Ribbon Awards of Merit were given to outstanding artwork. You can view the award-winning artwork here.

5, Untitled, In this photo I worked with perspective and color. When taking the photo I experimented with different angles to frame the photo. Then, in Photoshop I played with the contrast, black and white effects, and the color display of the central point in the image.

21, Untitled, This image depicts surplus pottery in a factory in Safi, Morocco. I like the slightly crooked aspect of the photo as well as the small detailed cool colors that contrast the warm tone of the picture. Photographing in such direct light is difficult, but the windows and doorway create darker values in the picture. Every time I look at the photo, I find new details in the small imperfections of the background to ponder.
